Many of our members are amateur historians and enjoy sharing their knowledge of American History, especially the War Between the States (WBTS). Also, many members are knowledgable in equine care and training the horse. During the winter months we visit local elementary and jr. high school classrooms. We often join with the local Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV), camps, Fincastle Rifles and Rockbridge Artillery, to offer a complete package on the WBTS. We enjoy seeing the excitement on a student's face when he or she sees a horse up-close or holds a WBTS relic in his or her hands. We are delighted to see a child become interested in their own ancestry. Today, most schools devote little time to the study of the WBTS. We feel we can make a small difference and perhaps spark an interest that will last a life-time.

Members of the Rockbridge Dragoons have provided history programs for years and have a good understanding of school requirements and their safety rules. We can taylor our program to meet most school requirements.
